The history of chiropractic begins in 1895, when Daniel David (DD) Palmer, the creator of chiropractic, performed his first spine adjustment on a janitor, successfully recovering his hearing. Palmer immigrated to the United States from what is now Ontario, Canada in 1865, and began practicing magnetic treatment and other natural health practices in Davenport, Iowa in 1880.
