There is tons of news today, some new releases and a winner from yesterdays post, so read on!
Genreality Alum Carrie Vaughn has plenty going on this month, and I really hope you’ll show her the love!
Her first young adult novel, VOICES OF DRAGONS releases onTuesday, March 16th!
She aptly describes the book as “an alternate history with dragons, rock climbing, jet fighters, and boyfriend trouble.”

On one side of the border lies the modern world: the internet, homecoming dances, cell phones. On the other side dwell the ancient monsters who spark humanity’s deepest fears: dragons.
Seventeen-year-old Kay Wyatt knows she’s breaking the law by rock climbing near the border, but she’d rather have an adventure than follow the rules. When the dragon Artegal unexpectedly saves her life, the rules are abruptly shattered, and a secret friendship grows between them.
But suspicion and terror are the legacy of human and dragon inter actions, and the fragile truce that has maintained peace between the species is unraveling. As tensions mount and battles begin, Kay and Artegal are caught in the middle. Can their friendship change the course of a war?
In her young-adult debut, New York Times bestselling author Carrie Vaughn presents a distinctly twenty-first-century tale of myths and machines, and an alliance that crosses a seemingly unbridgeable divide.
“Vaughn’s universe is convincing and imaginative.” (Publishers Weekly )
Read the first chapter.
March 16 is also the release date for WARRIORS, an anthology edited by George R.R. Martin and Gardner Dozois. Which includes a powerful short story from Carrie called “The Girls from Avenger,” and it’s a historical piece about the Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II.
SciFi Guy calls Carrie’s, “The Girls from Avenger,” a “gem of a story”
The anthology FULL MOON CITY, edited by Darrell Schweitzer,is also due out in March. It’s all werewolf stories and Carrie’s got a one-off Kitty story in it. “Kitty Learns the Ropes.“.

Our Wednesday blogger, Bob Mayer also has a new release out this week. Be Sure to check out WILD RIDE.
When Mary Alice Brannigan comes home to Ohio to restore the Dreamland amusement park, she doesn’t expect to fall in love with a clown. Nor does she expect to find that she’s the newest recruit in the Guardia, an elite team of demon fighters formed centuries before to guard the five Untouchables, the most powerful demons in the history of the world, now imprisoned right there in Dreamland. That would be bad enough, but there’s that clown she’s falling hard for, and there’s something about him that’s not quite right…
Then there’s Ethan Wayne, a former Green Beret who’s come home to Dreamland to die. Ethan has his own problems including a bullet in his chest inching closer to his heart, a true love who shoots him on sight, and a mother who drags him into the Guardia after he’s possessed by a crazed killer mermaid demon. Between ducking his mother’s attempts to reform him and dodging the bullets of a secret government agent he’s pretty sure is his soulmate, Ethan really doesn’t have time for demons, touchable or not.
But rocky romances and demented demons aren’t Mab and Ethan’s only problems, and they’re about to find out what everybody who’s ever been to an amusement park knows: the end of the ride is the wildest.
