As today is the 4th of July, and I have a barbecue to get to, I’d like to hear what books you plan on reading over this weekend, as well as some of your favorite books to take to the beach.
I’m currently reading THE SCARECROW by Michael Connelly, and after that I’m thinking about THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO by Stieg Larsson (which I’ve been meaning to read for a long time).
How about you? What are your holiday reading plans?

After an incredibly stressful week which concluded with my planned beach trip blown to hell, I settled back last night with Leslie Langtry’s I Shot You Babe. I REALLY needed the laugh.

My copy of Darkness Calls arrived so I hope to start that tonight. I read an advance copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and really enjoyed it. I hope you do too.

I’m alternating between The War of Art by Steven Pressfield and Breaking Midnight by Emma Holly, which makes for a surreal experience.
I’m one of those weird people who don’t take books to the beach because (like my bathing suit) they end up with sand in them. I do listen to audio books in the car while I’m driving there, though, and this summer I’ve re-listening to some old favorites: Pictures in My Head by Gabriel Byrne (read by the author) and Powers That Be by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough (read by Marina Sirtis, my favorite audio book of all time.)

I’m reading that really obscure cult classic, “Getting Things Done” by David Allen. Not light beach reading but I’m a long way from the beach and pay little attention to holidays. My desk is clear for the first time in two years! Now maybe I can get back to work on my novel.

I’ve been reading War of Art. Also Leveraging Drupal. Probably need to chase that with something a tad lighter.
