GENREALITY

Ack! It’s Tuesday!

Oh Lord, I’m so sorry. Once again I forgot it was tuesday. I was a bit sick over the weekend, and it snowed so I got up and shovelled and went about my day totally not realizing it was Tuesday. And I don’t have a post prepared, so I’m going to cheat a little and do a giveaway.

If you’d like a $15 amazon Gift Card, then tell me in the comments comments how often YOU forget what day of the week it is. I’ll draw a random winner and announce next Tuesday!

I frequently forget it’s Thursday. Or is it that I forget it’s Friday. No, definitely Thursday. You see, Thursday looks a lot like Tuesday. I don’t mean the actual words, but yeah, I guess they do look a lot alike. I mean it’s the days themselves. Not the deadly Monday, not the hump of the middle of the week, but also lacking the hint of freedom that Friday brings.

But I always remember Zeepsday, the day that comes between Wednesday and Thursday. Well, sometimes it does, though it’s been a while. I thought we’d get it this leap year, but apparently not. Or is that only on zeep years? Come to think of it, I’m not sure I recall the last time I actually experienced Zeepsday.

Then again, maybe I’ve been hitting it every week all along, and that’s what’s been throwing off my whole Thursday thing. Or maybe it’s just too much Adult Swim.

Today is a work day and that is as far as I get. I usually recognize Fridays since everyone says “Have a great weekend.” Mondays are usually easy (it is the day after going to church). But, this day today (did you say Tuesday?) felt like Monday……..

When I have several days off in a row from the day job, I can certainly forget what day it is, usually by day three or four. Longer vacations or longer conventions, the same thing.

    BTW, love your blog posts!

Forget what day it is? All the time–even with a variety of calendars and the date showing on the computer. Sometimes it’s only the menu list at the day job that keeps me on track.

I guess that’s what happens when I live in my own little world.

What’s bad, with a day job, is when you think it’s Wednesday or hope – Thursday, and then realize, its Tuesday. What does it say about the life I lead that all the days run together?

    Ugh.

I love it – yay for giveaways! I forget the day of the week probably once every month or two. In my defense, my fictional world has 10 day weeks, instead of 7 day weeks. So that explains it, right? ;-)

I typically forget all week days but Wednesday and Friday – Wednesday b/c its early release day at school and it makes the order I pull my students different, and Fridays because…it’s the weekend! YAY! Every other day I have to stop and ask myself several times what day it is in order to remember.

With working nights, all the time. Specially when I’m at work and it slips from one day to the next! It’s amazing with all our gadgets that we can forget something as simple as the day lol.

since Dec 21 we’ve been reqired to take 90 hours of vacation off to save money whether we had it or not. I’ve been taking one day a week off so I won’t be short so much and it’s not always the same day every week so I am really losing days now. I have to look most days just to see what day it is. Thanks goodness it’s over with March 1st. Or I hope it is unless they make us take more days off. Oh well at least I have a job so far. but they are doing layoff so cross your fingers for me.

I almost never know what day of the week it is. I’m freelance and work from home, and my work is all large-scale tasks (like, enter these 1,872,918 data records and get back to us when you’re done) so I don’t often interact with others. Also, I prefer to work fewer hours per day, but seven days a week, unless I’m on a deadline, which blurs the days together.

I was waiting on a courier delivery, and I spent all of Monday checking out the window. Yesterday my mom pointed out to me that Monday was a holiday and so the courier probably wouldn’t have been working. Oh. Right. Holiday. Forgot about those.
