RockYourWritingCareer.com – A New Resource for Novelists

About midway through 2009, I began playing around with designing a members-only website for working novelists.  I called it RockYourWritingCareer.com, because that was what it was intended to do – help novelists take their careers to the next level.  The intent was to provide an inside look into the things that I had done to help develop my own career – from the steps I took to sell to foreign publishers to discussions about the viability of digital publication.  Materials would be presented in a variety of formats – blog posts, video tutorials, audio podcasts and the like.

The site actually got off the ground late last summer and I brought in a few fellow members of the Horror Writers Association to help me test it out for a few months.  The general consensus was that the material was useful and presented in such as way that members could use it to try and duplicate my successes with the same procedures and approaches.

As part of a change in strategy for the New Year, I’ve decided to launch the site as a free resource, rather than a paid membership site, so as of January 1st, the site is open to any and all who’d like to check it out.  For Genreality readers, some of the material will already be familiar, but I think there is enough new content to mention it here.

Over the next few months, I’ll be devoting more time to the site, updating on a regular basis (once or twice a week) and sharing a lot of the tips and strategies that I’ve used to survive in today’s publishing environment.  I hope some of you drop by and check things out.
